OREANDA-NEWS. The head office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchnage (BUCE) played host to the talks between BUCE administration and representatives of two German companies - Holger Tschense (T&T BC) and Thorsten Korner (Stadtwerke Leipzig GmbH). The main goal of the German delegation was to get detailed information about the peculiarities of participation of foreign companies in exchange auctions for timber products arranged by BUCE. The foreign guests were particularly interested in the procedure of delivery of purchased goods to the buyer, terms of accreditation and guarantees of fulfillment of contractual obligations.

Given that Mr. Korner's company specializes in energy supply, the sides discussed the possibilities of buying pulpwood via BUCE and its further use as a fuel at German CHP plants. BUCE representatives expressed readiness to provide all the necessary assistance in this matter and work out the most convenient scheme of delivering timber to end consumers using the available exchange logistics infrastructure.

The talks resulted in a preliminary agreement to register Stadtwerke Leipzig GmbH at BUCE thus enabling it to participate in exchange auctions for pulpwood. It is planned to use Klaipeda (Lithuania) exchange warehouse as a delivery point for purchased products.
