OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2014. Minister of Petroleum Eng. Makkawi Mohamed Awad has revealed an agreement between Sudan and China to increase oil production, tackle the issue of Chinese companies' debts and ownership of Petrodar oil field.

The Minister said he briefed President Al Bashir on the efforts exerted by West Kordofan and East Darfur States to protect and preserve rights of Chinese companies.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance and National Economy Badreldin Mahmoud announced an agreement between Sudan and China in the field of oil especially the transit fees of Chinese companies' oil at the rate of USD20 a barrel.

The Minister said he met with his Saudi counterpart on the sidelines of meetings of the Arab Economic and Social Council in Kuwait and discussed with him how to address the problem of money transfer between Sudanese and Saudi banks.

The Minister added that he also discussed with other Arab Ministers the initiative of President Al Bashir on food security in the Arab world by redressing their food gap.

The Ministers of Finance and Petroleum briefed President Al Bashir on the outcomes of their visit to China, Kuwait and UAE and the meetings they held with Ministers and officials in those countries.
