OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2014. The total assets of Moldova’s insurers amounted to MDL 2 billion 453.1 million, up 3.3% against 2012, the National Commission on Financial Market said.

Their net assets were 1 billion 106.97 million as of the end of December 2013, down 10.8% as compared with the same period of the past year. Their total equity capital was MDL 469.31 million, down 15.7%. The technical reserves of the insurance market increased 23.3% to MDL 1 billion 038.7 million, the disposable solvency margin being MDL 639.47 million, the minimum required making MDL 298.49 million.

The liquidity coefficient varied from 1.1% (Exim-Asint) to 16.4% (Klassika Asigurari). In 2013, insurance companies of Moldova collected premiums amounting to MDL 1 billion 197,02 million, up 9.9%; they paid indemnifications at an amount of MDL 432.44 million, down 0.5%. Reinsurance was allotted to MDL 236.92 million (down 9.3%). Last year, there were 17 insurance companies on the insurance market of Moldova.
