OREANDA-NEWS. NPO Saturn conjointly with COMPAREX has introduced an integrated telecommunication system based on the Microsoft Lync Server 2013 into the company's daily operations.

Geographical repartition and the need for a faster and a higher-quality exchange of information had led NPO Saturn to the idea of upgrading its existing telecommunication system based on the state-of-the-art IT solutions. Since most of NPO Saturn's IT architecture is built off the Microsoft technologies, the company opted for the Lync software which allows to integrate the company's scattered telecommunication channels using a unique platform and bring corporate interaction to another level. The COMPAREX company played the role of NPO Saturn's project partner in that process.

In order to solve the telecommunication system task, the engineers of NPO Saturn joined by their colleagues from COMPAREX carried out the implementation of a unique Microsoft Lync Server 2013 corporate class platform.

During the first stage of the launched IT-project, project engineers from NPO Saturn and COMPAREX came up with an optimal procedure for implementing an integrated telecommunication platform. A failsafe cluster ensuring dynamic intermodal loading distribution was created. Subsequently, pilot testing of the system and all its function took place with a follow-on implementation of the said service for all the corporate users.

In the process of project implementation, particular attention was paid to such functions of the telecommunication system as the telecommunication cost decrease, full-fledged support of conference calls by mobile clients disregarding their geographical location, integration of the already available videoconferencing system, the user-friendly interface, fast access to the selected contacts and other enhanced features.

“First of all, I would like to say that the introduction of the Lync system has boosted the telecommunication efficiency due to the appearance of the personal videoconferencing function since the majority of information is transmitted through a visual channel. Besides, the company employees can now demonstrate different visual materials, presentations and bring them to a joint discussion by simply providing access rights to their work stations to their videoconference counterparts. There is no longer a need for the most important company employees to be physically present at the teleconferences. We have been able to ensure teleconferencing even with the most remote NPO Saturn's branches. I'm convinced that all that will in turn accelerate the decision-making process inside the company reinforcing the interaction between the company's branches and decreasing substantially telecommunication costs,” - shared NPO Saturn chief information officer Yuriy Zelenkov.

As a result of implementing the Microsoft Lync Server 2013, NPO Saturn has gained access to failsafe telecommunication service designed to withstand higher loading and having a significant strength margin which allowed to adopt this type of telecommunication as a corporate standard for interaction within NPO Saturn and with its partner companies. It also allowed to improve the employees' performance and decrease telecommunication costs.
