OREANDA-NEWS. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport took part in the roundtable discussion on the topic Authorities and Travel Business: perspective areas of cooperation in terms of tourism across Siberia, held within the frameworks of SITT/TourSib 2014 exhibition.

As the delegate of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport, the Head of Aviation Marketing Department Igor LEONTYEV presented his report on the prospects for development of direct flight connection between Novosibirsk and the Crimea (Simferopol) and the Republic of Altai (Gorno-Altaisk).

The passenger traffic on the Crimean route is steadily growing: following the results in 2013, the overall passenger traffic on the return direct and transfer Novosibirsk - Simferopol flights exceeded 15 thousand passengers representing a 30.4% increase compared to the previous year's results. Traditionally operated by S7 Airlines, seasonal direct flights to Simferopol are reinstated every summer. This year flights from Novosibirsk to the capital of the Republic of Crimea are expected to commence from 11th June with the frequency of one weekly flight, from 27th June - with two weekly flights.

Further increase of flight frequency on the Crimean route will be stimulated by the government support programme which ensures subsidizing of flight services to Simferopol effective from June 1, 2014. As expected, the subsidized one-way tariff on Novosibirsk - Simferopol route will be 4,800 roubles.

Highlighting the issue of flight connection with the Republic of Altai, Igor LEONTYEV underlined that due to RF Government Regulation No.1242 on regional aviation support, starting from April 2014, four weekly flights are performed on the route Novosibirsk - Gorno-Altaisk. The minimum one-way fare equals 1,500 roubles.
