OREANDA-NEWS. On April 21, the Kemerovo Region Governor Aman Tuleyev and the Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) CEO Vladimir Rashevsky signed Socioeconomic Cooperation Agreement 2014.

The Agreement targets important socioeconomic projects to be implemented in 2014 in the Kemerovo Region by SUEK and SGC jointly with the Region authorities.

The major areas of social investment include programs to improve health of Kuzbass children; funding towards Miners' Day celebration; financing regional programs, such as delivering coal to low-income population; support towards programs of social development of the region. SUEK Labour Squads Project is going to be advanced further, businesses will be providing aid to veterans, needy families, assisting in improving the municipal system of labour resources training; financing programs contributing to development of sports, health care, culture.

The Agreement also sets forth parameters of economic development of companies in the Kemerovo Region. Specifically, it provides for RUR11.52 billion to be invested in development of coal production facilities, and RUR26.24 billion to be invested in the energy generating complex during the year. As many as RUR1.15 billion will be allocated to industrial health and safety activities at the coal industry and energy generating complex sites.

Every year, we carefully work out plans of social events, discuss dozens of projects, selecting the most significant and vital ones. Those really essential, efficient and called-for are carried out on a large-scale as a result of close cooperation and quality interaction between the leaders of the Kemerovo Region and our Company," observed Vladimir Rashevsky, CEO, SUEK, upon signing the Agreement.
