OREANDA-NEWS. April 24, 2014. Labor Management Council Employee Representative Juhyeong Lee, Management Infra Division Head Dongjun Yoon, and related employees held the `GWP (Great Work Place)` execution kick-off event on April 7th at the Labor-Management Council meeting room, located on the 2nd floor at Pohang headquarters.

Representative Juhyeong Lee said, ``The Labor-Management Council has hosted this event to pledge to lead the realization of `POSCO the Great` through GWP execution campaigns with employees.``

The Labor-Management Council through GWP execution aims to improve tasks that are for-show, routine, or low-value to improve core competitiveness, and carry out safety and organization culture reform activities so that all employees can enjoy their workplace and foster a company into the world`s best competitiveness.

To do so, the `GWP Execution Committee` that is centered on employee members was formed, and three subcommittees by themes of strengthening core competitiveness, and improving safety and calamity prevention and organization culture will be in operation, while the Company`s relevant divisions and labor divisions will jointly form a Supporting Group for each of the subcommittees to allow systematic activities.

To spread GWP activities throughout the company, GWP execution items will be discussed at the existing Team•Division•Steelworks meeting along with other items, and when a decision to approve suggested GWP items cannot be made at the meeting, they will be transferred to a higher level meeting for discussion.

At the kick-off event, Management Infra Division Head Dongjun Yoon said, ``I would like to sincerely thank the Labor-Management Council for voluntary leading the movement to realize `POSCO the Great,` the Company`s new vision. I will fully support GWP Execution Committee activities so that our Company can become one where employees find a great workplace and leap forward as a company with first class competitiveness.``

Attendees also held a small cake cutting ceremony, pledging to carry out activities that matter and emphasizing employee`s interest and participation.
