OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport commissioned an alternative fuel-supply complex fully certificated for receiption, storage, issue of jet fuel and providing an into-plane fueling service. Joint Venture Shell and Aerofuels is an operator of this complex.

The launch of this alternative fuel-supply complex at Moscow Domodedovo Airport is a landmark event in the field of passenger traffic: the competitive environment in the market of aviation fuel creates favorable pricing conditions for consuming companies. Currently, there are two fueling operators at Moscow Domodedovo Airport - Domodedovo Fuel Services and Shell & Aerofuels.

So, Moscow Domodedovo Airport became the first Moscow hub which demonopolised the fuel-supply segment at its airport, providing an opportunity to work at the apron to several companies, including a joint venture of the Aerofuels Group and a world leader in the field of aviation fuel supply - Shell Aviation. As part of its strategy, Moscow Domodedovo Airport provided opportunities for organizing work of the alternative fuel-supply complex operated by was one of the key partners of the air hub.

The alternative fuel-supply complex is engaged in a full cycle of operations: receiption, storage, issue of jet fuel and aircraft refueling, - which means that the operator is required to have all relevant certificates and infrastructure facilities. Taking into account a fruitful long-term cooperation in the field of aviation fuel supply, Moscow Domodedovo Airport provided the existing fuel infrastructure to be used by Shell and Aerofuels Company which obtained all necessary permits.
