OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2014. In Bratislava operators of gas transporting system of Ukraine (Ukrtransgaz) and the Slovak Republic (Eustream a.s) signed a Memorandum on reverse supplies of natural gas.

 The document was signed in the presence of the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yurii Prodan, Chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine Board Andrii Kobolev.

The memorandum envisages two variants of reverse gas deliveries.

The first variant (small reverse) envisages reverse supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine in the amount of up to 22 million cubic meters a day. The deliveries can start from September 1, 2014, after all technical and organizational measures on the territory of Slovakia have been completed. The second variant (large reverse) is possible on conditions of holding consultations and taking juridical actions. In such variant the volume of gas reverse can make up to 30 billion cubic meters annually.
