OREANDA-NEWS. Joint Stock Company Freight One has announced the signing of an exclusive three-year service contract with UC RUSAL for the transportation of finished products in boxcars.

Freight One will provide rail transportation services to RUSAL for the export of finished products from all of its aluminium smelters in Russia. Monthly volumes of aluminium and other RUSAL's cargos shipped from the stations of the East-Siberian, Krasnoyarsk, West-Siberian, Sverdlovsk and October railways are estimated at around 90 to 120 thousand tonnes per month.

"The service contract signed with RUSAL is in line with Freight One's strategy to develop long-term relations with our key clients and increase Freight One's market share of cargo transportation with large industrial groups. At the same time, we will be able to balance the distribution and intensity of our railcar fleet traffic on the Russian Railways network, which, in turn, will give Freight One additional opportunities to cater for the rail freight needs of other clients in the Western, the Ural, the Far Eastern and the Siberian Federal Districts", commented Oleg Bukin, CEO of Freight One.

"We expect a positive result from this long-term contract with Freight One in the near future, as it allows us to reduce transportation costs, increase turnover of rolling stock, reduce overall inventory levels and working capital," commented Vladislav Soloviev, first deputy CEO of RUSAL.
