OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines continues to expand its onboard Internet services for clients. Special scratch cards are now offered to passengers flying in Imperial and Business class on the airline's Boeing 777-300 and Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which are equipped with Transaero Connect services.

To gain Internet access passengers just need to enter their login and password, which can be found on the scratch card, on the internal website of the service. Once activated, the card enables the passenger to access the Internet for free for up to 30 minutes without any traffic limits.

Transaero was the first Russian airline to start providing high speed onboard broadband Internet in August 2012.

Transaero Airlines aircraft are equipped with the most advanced system of onboard Internet access, Ku-Band. This system is based on satellite technologies and is provided through the Panasonic GSC system onboard Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 aircraft and through the Row44 system onboard Boeing 737NG aircraft. Ku-Band technology enables passengers to use the Internet to check their e-mails, surf the web and communicate in social networks during their flight. The Ku-Band system operates on a frequency of 11.7 - 14.5 GHz and provides a channel transmission speed of 5 Mbps.
