OREANDA-NEWS. On 29 April 2014 the public consultations on the draft Public Annual Report of the company for 2013 took place at TENEX's office.

The meeting was attended by a wide circle of stakeholders, including the relevant divisions of State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Rostekhnadzor, FSTEC of Russia, JSC TVEL , JSC ARMZ , JSC SPb IZOTOP, Rusatom Overseas, JSC UECP, JSC AECC, JSC Atomenergomash, AREVA, Nukem Inc., Mitsui & Co. Moscow LLC, NAC International, CIFAL, members of public organisations and the media.

During the consultation, senior company executives presented detailed information on the main operational and financial results of the reporting year, as well as on sustainable development activities undertaken in the economic, environmental and social spheres.

TENEX General Director Lyudmila Zalimskaya's opening address stressed the fact that the annual report under discussion is the fifth that the company has prepared in an integrated format. Among TENEX's main results for 2013, Lyudmila Zalimskaya noted the successful achievement of all the KPIs set by ROSATOM, and the maintenance of high levels of uranium export volumes and share in fulfilling the needs of foreign-designed NPPs for enrichment services.

Despite the challenging market environment that followed the accident at the Fukushima 1 NPP, TENEX succeeded in not only extending numerous current contracts with customers in the EU and Asia Pacific region but also concluding nine new contracts with American utilities. This reporting year also saw continued testing of a new uranium product transport route via Russia's Far Eastern port - with two trial deliveries to a South Korean customer completed successfully.

While presenting the audience with the draft report, TENEX's First Deputy General Director for Strategy and Communications, Chairman of its Public Reporting Committee, Valery Govorukhin, stressed that the choice of the report's priority topic was determined by the fact that in November 2013 TENEX completed, after almost 20 years, the deliveries of low-enriched uranium to the United States under the HEU-LEU Agreement. “This is an exceptional project involving multilateral cooperation in the nuclear field, which, having been brought to completion proves that commercial mechanisms are effective in achieving political aims,” Valery Govorukhin said.

The public consultations participants then had an in-depth discussion of TENEX's 2013 draft report. The recommendations and suggestions that they offered on the scope of data to be presented will be taken into account in preparing the final version of the report - which will be published on TENEX's website at the beginning of July 2014.
