OREANDA-NEWS. On 3 May, the G-Drive Racing team, sponsored by Gazprom Neft's premium fuel brand G-Drive, finished first in the LMP2 class of the 6-hour race in Spa, Belgium - part of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is considered one of the most difficult in the world. Its legendary bends, such as Eau Rouge and Blanchimont, are a real test of skill - a test which the G-Drive Racing team of Roman Rusinov, Olivier Pla and Julien Canal passed with flying colours.

However, it was not an easy victory for the Russian team. After a qualifying round which saw tough weather conditions, the team started in third position. However, despite the difficulties, G-Drive Racing managed to take the lead and ultimately won a convincing victory.

“The result at Spa has strengthened our position in the World Endurance Championship in the new racing season. Our successes in the first two stages of the FIA WEC have been good preparation for the key race in the Championship, the marathon 24 Hours of Le Mans. I am sure that the G-Drive fuel which is being tested in this racing series is helping our team to victory,” said Alexander Krylov, Gazprom Neft's Regional Sales Director and Head of the G-Drive Racing project.

The legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans will be held on 14 and 15 June in France. It is one of the three most prestigious races in the world alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix.
