OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 700 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) (U.S. USD 70.14 million at the NBB rate) in January-February 2014, or 0.4% of GDP, the Finance Ministry said in a release.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 24.7 trillion rubles (USD 2.5 billion) in January-March 2014, or 19.2% of the adjusted target for the whole year.

Republican budget expenditures reached 24 trillion rubles (USD 2.4 billion), 18.7% of the target for 2014.

Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 15.3 trillion rubles (USD 1.53 billion, 23.1% of the year target), from income tax - Br3.3 trillion (USD 330.7 million, 17%), excises - Br4.4 trillion (USD 440.9 million, 19.5%), from foreign economic activities 4.1 trillion rubles (USD 410.8 million), 15.7% of the target.

Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry's social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br21.1 trillion (USD 2.114 billion, 22.2%).

Tax arrears totalled Br188.5 billion (USD 18.9 million), down month on month by Br117.4 billion (USD 11.8 million) as of April 1, 2014.

Revenues of the state administration budget (republican budget, local budgets and SSF) totalled Br65.5 trillion in January-March 2014 (USD 6.56 billion), 21.5% of the adjusted annual plan; expenditures - Br64.9 trillion (USD 6.5 billion, 21.5%).

The surplus of the state administration budget totalled Br600 billion (USD 60.12 million) in Jan-Mar 2014, 0.4% of the GDP.
