OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' forestry farms exported USD 45.86 million worth of timber and sawtimber materials in Q1 2014, up 49.4% year on year, the Forestry Ministry of Belarus said in a release.

The average price of sawtimber in Q1 2014 stood at USD 175.8 per 1 cubic metre to compare with USD 169.5 per cubic metre in 2013.

Belarus' timber products are exported to 25 countries: 5.3% goes to the former Soviet states and 94.7% to other foreign states. Poland is the major consumer of Belarusian timber (46.3% of the total in value terms), followed by Lithuania (11.2%), Germany (9.4%), Latvia (5.2%), Sweden (4.1%), Belgium (2.9%) and the Netherlands (2.8%).
