OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2014. The Government of Russia by its regulation No. 739-r approved list of measures on improvement of transport situation in seaports.

The measures are aimed at facilitation of formal procedures for port calls, exits and stay of vessels in the seaports of the Russian Federation, in order to create favourable conditions for export and import of goods in seaports.

The activity plan to be implemented in 2014-2018 will allow to reduce the number of days during which goods, except for the stored ones, are held in Russian seaports from 8 to 2 days by 2017.

The Ministry of Transport of Russia will coordinate the work of all participants involved in the implementation of the activity plan.

Last year the total transshipment turnover in Russian Seaports reached 589.2 million tons, which is 3.9 % larger than in 2012. During the first four months of 2014 19,7 million tons of cargo was transshipped in Russian seaports, which is 6.2 % more than in the same period of 2013.
