OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2014. The cabinet approved the ratification of an agreement which would help the rural entrepreneurs, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

It is about a financing agreement between Moldova and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, meant to implement the Inclusive Rural Economic and Climate Resilience Programme (IFAD VI).

The programme is set to increase the climate resistance to agricultural production for 62,000 people, by improving soil, introducing conservation agriculture and practices to improve soil quality. The programme will also allow developing infrastructure for farmers groups, such as access roads to production areas, supply of water for irrigation, drinking water, providing consultancy services.

The programme’s budget is 46.35 million dollars, of which about 26 million is provided as loan and grant, and the rest of money is from local sources, including contributions of programme beneficiaries.

The document will last till 2019. The agreement was signed in Rome, on 20 February 2014.
