TGC-1 Presents Its Operating Results for Q1-2014

OREANDA-NEWS. JSC TGC-1 is reporting its operating results for Q1 2014.

Total electricity output from the Company's generating facilities, including the Murmanskaya CHPP, for the period January-March 2014, reached 7,725.4 million kWh, a drop of 14.1% against the same period of 2013. The main factors to have an impact on the dynamics of production were: a fall in demand; improving output at inefficient power plants and the low water levels during this reporting period. Therefore, output from the Company's CHPPs was down by 15.9% to 4,899.4 million kWh and the Company's HPPs decreased electricity production by 10.7% to 2,826.0 million kWh in Q1 2014. Total electricity sales for Q1 2014 fell by 17.9%, reaching 8, 441.0 million kWh.

Output from the new production facilities of Yuzhnaya, Pervomayskaya and Pravoberezhnaya CHPPs in Q1 2014 exceeded last year's figure by 22.2%, reaching 1,783.8 million kWh. The production share from the combined cycle gas turbine units in the Company's total output increased to 23.1% for this reporting quarter. The commissioning of new energy efficient facilities and improving the load on the old production facilities helped to reduce the average specific fuel consumption used in electricity output by 6.4%.

The utilization ratio for installed electric capacity as a whole for JSC TGC-1 was recorded at 49.4%, 7.4 percentage points lower than the figure for Q1 2013.

Heat output, including the Murmanskaya CHPP, reached 9,377.0 thousand GCal, a decrease of 13.4% on figure for the colder heating season of 2013.
