OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2014. At the moment, Dudinka sea port of Polar transport division is getting prepared to the ice drift. This year Yenissei ice drift is expected since May 28 till June 3.

The weather forecast center of Polar transport division expects that the tide in the peak of flood may rise to 11-13 meters. Presently water inundated 8 meter high moorings.

Port administration has got prepared to the ice drift: self-propulsion cranes Liebherr, portal cranes Kirovets, cargo lift vehicles, energetic and other machinery were stationed in flood free zones, said Sergey Kasarkin, chief engineer of Polar transport division. Ships lading went on till moorings inundation. The port closed winter navigation on May 15, after diesel-electric ship Monchegorsk with the cargo of finished products left the port for Arkhangelsk.

The Dudinka port reopens sea navigation in the first half of June when two crane-equipped ships of the Company get in the roads a pay-load of Polar Division. The first to open are 14 meter moorings, followed by 8 meter moorings free of water. After restoration works, the Dudinka port quay witnesses full-scale sea and river navigation. First ships are expected in Dudinka at the beginning of June.
