OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2014. Sberbank of Russia played an active role in the XVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

At SPIEF Sberbank presented its new stand, which emphasises the core values of the bank, as reflected in its 2018 Development Strategy: “I am a leader, We are a team, All for the client!” The bank organised several events at the forum. In addition, during SPIEF Sberbank signed a total of 19 cooperation agreements and memorandums with ministries, Russian regions, and also Russian and international companies.

On the first day of the forum, May 22, Sberbank hosted a special session “New Competitiveness: Alternatives and Prospects”, which was of genuine interest to delegates and members of the press. On May 23 Sberbank held its traditional business breakfast. This year its topic was “New Models of Education for the 21st Century Economy”; participants included governors of Russian regions, CEOs of major Russian and international companies, and rectors from the country’s leading universities. Both events were moderated by Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia, and were broadcast live on television channel RUSSIA 24 and on the websites of Sberbank and RIA Novosti.

At SPIEF the management of Sberbank signed a number of major agreements and memorandums that established key areas of interaction between parties. Among other things they stipulate the provision of financial products and services, including via Sberbank CIB, the corporate and investment banking business of the Sberbank Group.

In particular, agreements and memorandums were signed with the Russian Ministry of Transport, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the governments of the Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Moscow and Novgorod Regions, the governments of the Republic of Karelia and St. Petersburg, and the administration of the Pskov Region. Documents were also signed with leading companies that represent various industries: Bank of China, EUROCEMENT group, SG-trans, NAFTAN, Special Economic Zones, Rosmorport, Azerbaijan Methanol Company, and Slovenske elektrarne, a.s. In addition, Sberbank Asset Management signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Invest AD Abu Dhabi Investment Company.

Sberbank has been a General Partner of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum since 2008 and has held its business breakfast at the forum annually since 2009.
