OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2014. In view of the increasing client needs in Asia Pacific, BNP Paribas continues to build its Equity Cash business in the region, which covers a range of best-in-class offering including Research, Sales, and Trading executions.

BNP Paribas is pleased to announce a number of senior appointments to bring the Asia Pacific team to a higher level.

Ken Chen is appointed as Deputy Head of Equity Cash Asia Pacific to oversee the Advisory functions, namely Research and Sales. Ken joined BNP Paribas in 2010 and became Head of APAC Equity Research in 2012. Having brought his strategic view and extensive knowledge into the team, Ken has successfully repositioned the Research products over the past 18 months. His strategic focus and drive will bring even stronger alignment between Research products and Sales activities, delivering client focused Advisory services to our clients.

Gabriel Chan is appointed as Head of Equity Research Asia Pacific. Gabriel brings extensive knowledge and insights thanks to his 13 years of sell-side research experience. Prior to joining BNP Paribas in June 2013, he was a top-rated analyst covering the regional gaming and consumer discretionary sectors.

Douglas Butcher will join the Hong Kong office from Tokyo to take up the new role of Head of Equity Cash APAC Sales Trading. Under his leadership, the team in Japan has been instrumental in successfully developing the Sales Trading capabilities and client recognition. Joining the regional team in Hong Kong, Douglas will extend the success across Asia Pacific.

On the other hand, Carrie Cheung, Head of Electronic Trading will continue leading and developing the Algorithmic, DMA and Program trading business, as well as the development and implementation of our new trading system infrastructure. She joined BNP Paribas in August 2013.

All of the above team leaders report to Head of Equity Cash Asia Pacific, Lee Cook.
