OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2014. International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) and JSC "Ort sondіrushі" of the MES have signed a memorandum of cooperation in Almaty today.

"This proposal is very important to us. We are interested in further contacts with ICDO in terms of prevention and response. I think it is an important area," the Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko said at the signing.

The document was signed by ICDO General Secretary Vladimir Kuvshinov and president of "Ort sondіrushі" Seytkazhi Okassov. According to them, the memorandum provides for cooperation in organizing international training courses to improve the skills in the field of civil protection, the organization of works to develop educational facilities for training firefighters and rescuers.

ICDO Secretary General Vladimir Kuvshinov noted that Kazakhstan is one of the most active members of the organization. "We have an interesting point on establishment of international emergency storehouses. Modern technologies allow creating it, not only in its classic form, as a shed, but will also allow it to fill it with necessary equipment to respond," he said.

ICDO also provides training organizations located in Kazakhstan, on the basis of which international courses are held, with logistic and consultation aid. In addition, there is an exchange of experience in the organization of training centers in ICDO member countries and study of features of foreign educational centers in developed countries.

Today, ICDO unites 54 member states, 17 observer states, 17 associate members.

JSC "Ort sondіrushі" has been cooperating with the ICDO Secretariat on training fire fighting and prevention workers over the past four years.

ICDO courses in Karaganda and extension courses for executive workers of JSC "Ort sondіrushі" in Germany are planned within the framework of bilateral cooperation in 2014.
