OREANDA-NEWS. The workers of oil and gas companies, law enforcement agencies and rescue services of Mangistau region participate in complex training exercises to combat criminal attacks.

In the past three years, according to the analysis of the crime situation, Mangistau region has faced a substantial increase in criminal activity. Especially, criminal acts against oil and gas facilities, as well as growth of extremist and terrorist illegal activities observed in the whole country, which involves more and more people each year, and particularly the residents of Mangistau region. In accordance with the action plan on implementation of the Security Program of “KazMunayGas” NC” JSC for 2013-2017 and the plan on defense against terrorist acts of the facilities of KMG and its subsidiaries and affiliates, from 28 to 29 May the heads and specialists of more than 40 oil and gas companies, employees of rescue and other forces, law enforcement bodies, emergency services and other relevant departments will practice and reinforce the skills on how to localize and mitigate the consequences of accidents in emergency situations.

Besides, one of the main training goals is to improve the knowledge of executives and specialists in various departments and units of production facilities in management of actions to protect workers and ensure sustainable operation in emergency situations, including those relating to terrorist acts. It is also important to achieve coordinated interaction in work of senior management and response forces at facilities.

In these exercises “KazTransOil” is represented by all the production staff of HOPS “Aktau” and experts from specialized structural divisions of the company. During the drills, it is planned to practice knowledge and skills of specialists in detention of potential terrorists and elimination of explosive devices on the territory of HOPS “Aktau” and on the pipeline “Kalamkas - Karazhanbas-Aktau”. The stock will be taken at the end of such drills and the actions of all the participants will be analyzed.
