OREANDA-NEWS. On May 20-22, 2014 representatives of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) took part in the 81st International Agricultural Exhibition NOVI SAD - 2014 held in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The main goal of the visit was to establish new business contacts, build up the customer base and inform the participants about BUCE's capabilities in electronic trading of exchange and non-exchange commodities.

The business trip to Serbia included negotiations with the administration of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry during which BUCE delegates shared information about BUCE's goals and objectives related to the development of international trade as well as the latest trends in the commodity market of the Republic of Belarus. In addition, the parties looked into the ways of bolstering trade and economic relations between Belarus and Serbia and discussed the most promising areas of cooperation.

During the meetings with the representatives of agricultural and food companies from the Balkan Region, BUCE experts provided information about the advantages of using electronic exchange trade instruments to boost the Belarus-Serbia bilateral trade.

Apart from that, BUCE representatives held talks with the staff of the Organization for Eurasian Cooperation (Bulgaria). The sides reviewed the course of implementation of previous agreements and came up with a set of measures designed to speed up these processes. In particular, the Bulgarian side confirmed its intention to register new traders at BUCE's electronic platform. This move will help expand the representation of Bulgarian companies at the commodity exchange.
