OREANDA-NEWS. The launch of Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with Soyuz TMA-13M spacecraft and its subsequent coupling with the International Space Station (ISS) have been insured by SOGAZ OJSC and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company. The corresponding coinsurance agreement was signed between the two Russian insurance companies and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Center for Operation of Space Ground-Based Infrastructure” (FSUE "TsENKI").

Manned transport spacecraft Soyuz TMA-13M was insured for the launch period, leading out to the target orbit and coupling with the ISS. The insurance coverage was effective up to the opening of passageway in the docking unit of the spacecraft after its docking with the ISS. The coinsurance agreement was concluded on parity between SOGAZ OJSC and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company and covers the risks of total loss for any reason. The total sum insured accounted for the cost of the carrier rocket, the nose fairing and the spacecraft was RUB 2.154 bn.

Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with Soyuz TMA-13M spacecraft was launched on the 28th of May at 23:57 Moscow time from Baikonur Cosmodrome. Today, on the 29th of May at 05:04 MSK, spacecraft was successfully docked with the ISS. The crew that arrived aboard of manned spacecraft included the commander, Roscosmos cosmonaut Maxim Suraev, and flight engineers, astronauts Reid Wiseman (NASA) and Alexander Gerst (ESA). In accordance with the mission plan of the International Space Station, the 40/41 long expedition is to include work with cargo spacecrafts and three spacewalks. The crew will also conduct 45 research projects and experiments.

According to the plan, the crew will work onboard the ISS for 167 days.
