OREANDA-NEWS. The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali has been receiving too may orders for granulated fertilizers from Russian customers that has to reject some of them, Valery Kiriyenko, Belaruskali's CEO, told a news conference in the Belarusian city of Soligorsk.

“There are so many orders that we could end up exporting 50-60 thousand tonnes per month. Today we can choose where to supply our granulated fertilizers, for instance to Brazil, or to Russia. Exports to other foreign countries is more profitable for the company and exports to Russia”.

In the meantime, Belaruskali has suspended negotiations with Russian manufacturers of compound fertilizers, including Acron and EuroChem (which have long-term contracts with Uralkali).

As a result of the crisis on the global potash market, the price of NPK fertilizers have fallen, but Belaruskali holds a solid niche on the market, as the company offers NPK fertilizers with a different content formula, which is not available from other suppliers.

Belaruskali produced around 60,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizers in Jan-Mar 2014. Belaruskali exports NPK fertilizers to Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania and Serbia.
