OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus may introduce free purchase prices for milk and meat procured under state contracts. The president's press-service made a statement to this effect following President Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Smolevichi District on May 27 to attend a government conference on fodder production and animal husbandry.

Lukashenko made it clear that there are plans to liberalize the purchasing prices for milk and meat to provide the processing companies with a possibility to purchase these products from any supplier.

At the moment, purchasing prices for milk and meat procured under government contracts are set by the Ministry of Agriculture.
