OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2014. Sberbank has issued a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for 2013. In contrast to the previous reports of the bank, this is a consolidated Report.

Previously, CSR reports did not include any information or data other than in Russia. However, Sberbank's consistent development as a diversified international financial group led to it reviewings its approach to information disclosure. The sphere of Sberbank’s influence expands through its subsidiary banks and affiliated companies with an increasing number of stakeholders and level of responsibility to them. It is therefore very important that they are well informed about the most important issues related to the influence of the companies of Sberbank Group on the economic, social and environmental spheres in the regions of presence.

The Report presents the development priorities established by Sberbank's Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and highlights key achievement in different areas:

27.6% of the Group’s customer service outlets are adapted for the needs of disabled people;

35.3 mn of clients receive social payments via Sberbank;

453,000 of people improved their housing conditions with help of Sberbank loans;

RUB 378 mn of educational loans were granted to students within the state programme aimed at providing government support for higher education;

20 mn people used bank’s educational interactive applications aiming at enhancing financial literacy;

231,500 small businesses obtained financing from Sberbank;

Near 300,000 people are Group employees in 22 countries of operations;

36,000 employees completed training courses at Sberbank Corporate University;

268 child care centres in 120 Russian cities participate in corporate charity programme designed to support orphanage children “From heart to heart”;

40 tonnes of office paper were saved due to implementation of the electronic document circulation system;

50,000 people in 42 cities of Russia participated in the Green Marathon initiative.

The report complies with application level B of the GRI international standard and is part of the bank’s annual financial statements disclosed at the London Stock Exchange.
