OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2014. CEPSA and Carrefour have reached an agreement to install Carrefour Express stores in CEPSA service stations.

The agreement follows on from the alliance signed by the companies in 2013, whereby customers benefit from discounts on fuel and shopping at Carrefour stores.

In 2013, CEPSA and Carrefour ran a pilot scheme, opening ten Carrefour Express stores in different parts of the country. Based on their success and the number of satisfied customers, the firms have now agreed to open a further 500 Carrefour Express franchise stores within the next five years. Between 70 and 100 of these will open in 2014.

According to Santiago Ruiz, CEPSA's Service Station Manager, “This strategic alliance with a leading distribution company like Carrefour will enable us to open more than 100 Carrefour Express stores in our service stations within a year and give us an edge in the convenience store sector. We'll be offering our customers an extensive range of products, including quality and Carrefour own brand options. Customers will be able to meet their daily shopping needs by picking up dairy products, meat, fruit, vegetables... all the variety and great prices of a supermarket but with longer opening hours”.
