OREANDA-NEWS.  June 10, 2014. The LCC carrier Hong Kong Express held an official ceremony at Incheon Airport to mark the opening of the Incheon-Hong Kong route.

Hong Kong Express debuted at Incheon on the 30th last month and opened a one time daily operation, which will increase to two times in celebration of the debut. The route will be serviced by the 174-seat aircraft A320-200, all the seats of which are economy class.

Hong Kong Express turned into the first LCC airline of Hong Kong in June 2013. It was founded in 2004 and is a subsidiary of the largest Chinese private carrier--Hainan Airlines. Today it services ten cities in six Asian countries through six A320 carriers. Hong Kong Express plans to operate as many as 20 routes including the recently opened Incheon-Hong Kong service.

With the recruiting of Hong Kong express, the Incheon-Hong Kong route is now serviced 141 times weekly by ten airlines, furthering the convenience of passengers. The proportion of LCCs at Incheon Airport is increasing every year along with the trend of the global aviation market, and the number of passengers traveling with LCCs is also going upward.
