OREANDA-NEWS.  June 10, 2014. China Petroleum and Chemical Corp., or Sinopec, has raised its ex-works butadiene price across China by Yuan 200-300/mt to Yuan 9,000/mt, or USD1,209/mt on an import parity basis, traders said.

Sinopec raised its ex-works price in East China by Yuan 100/mt to Yuan 8,800/mt. At that time, the company kept its ex-works prices in North and South China unchanged at Yuan 8,700/mt.

The price increase is due to rising butadiene demand in China amid a firming synthetic rubber market, with trading sources Tuesday saying Asian styrene-butadiene-rubber prices in particular were rising amid tight supply.
