OREANDA-NEWS.   KAMAZ Group (a member of Rostec), the largest automobile corporation of the Russian Federation, moved up by two positions in the rating of the world’s leading heavy truck producers for a year. Having produced more than 43 thousand trucks by 2013, OJSC KAMAZ ranks 11th among the world’s top manufacturers of trucks with GVW over 16 t. These data are published in The Global Truck Industry annual report by Jonathan Storey, Director of Automotive Reports Ltd. The same position belongs to the Russian company in the rating published by the American company Paccar Inc., one of the largest heavy-duty truck makers in the world.
KAMAZ has been improving its ranking step by step – from 16th in 2009 to 13th in 2012. Last year, despite the global recession, the Russian manufacturer took 11th place having surpassed such companies as Iveco, Navistar, Ford and Toyota. The rating is as usual topped by the German auto concern Daimler AG, KAMAZ’s strategic partner and major shareholder.
