OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2014. Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan intends to optimize the six existing sectoral programs combining them into two.

About what programs are subject to optimization and what is the two new documents, said.
Speaking at a press conference in central Communications Service, Regional Development Minister Bolat Zhamishev noted that six existing sectoral programs will be optimized into two policy documents - "Business Road Map-2020", which incorporated all the tools of business support from other programs, and the draft Program for Regional Development 2020 which comprises "Affordable Housing 2020", "Utilities Modernization", "Ak-Bulak", and "Development of single-industry towns".

"The purpose of optimizing these programs is to determine the new priority, which is the support for the development of centers of economic growth", said B. Zhamishev.
It should also be noted that the integration of sectoral programs strengthens the role of the interdepartmental committee on regional policy. All budget investment projects will be considered jointly with the participation of government agencies through regional development priorities and then place for consideration of the Republican Budget Commission.

In the framework of increasing urbanization special attention will also be paid to the enhancement of mono-and small towns. This year, as part of the President's instructions, the Ministry has developed a program "Development of small towns", which provisions have been integrated into the draft Program for regional development. New program covered 27 single-industry towns and 41 small towns in Kazakhstan.
