OREANDA-NEWS. NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport hosted the official opening of Novosibirsk - Ust Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan) flights performed by SCAT Airlines. Following the good tradition, Novosibirsk airport jointly with the air company celebrated the route opening with specially baked cake.

Flights on this route are operated on CRJ-200 aircraft twice per week, each Wednesday and Sunday.

Departure time from Novosibirsk is 16:10 each Wednesday and 15:50 each Sunday. Departure time from Ust Kamenogorsk is 12:20 on the same days. Local time applies.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO CAT I and CAT II. In 2013 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.7 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 29.9 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled. In 2014 the airport expects to serve 4.2 mln passengers and handle over 32 thousand tons of cargo and mail.

SCAT Airlines is one of the largest air companies in Kazakhstan. Established in 1997, the airline operates an extensive network, primarily domestic routes (more than 40) as well as within CIS and Central Asia (23 international routes).
