OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2014 in Moscow Gunnar Castberg, Country Manager in international certification body DNV GL in Russia, presented Baltika CEO Isaac Sheps with a certificate proving successful implementation of an integrated management system at the company's breweries. Being part of the Carlsberg Group, Baltika will share its expertise with the rest of the Group - integrated management system in the Group is expected to be built by 2018.

Throughout its history, Baltika Breweries aims to meet the needs and expectations of all its stakeholders - customers and consumers, employees, society, and shareholders. In quality management, environmental protection, health & safety, and food safety the company has been guided by generally recognized international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 22000.

The decision taken by the company leadership in the beginning of 2013 to create an Integrated Management System became the turning point in the development of quality management systems in the company. The IMS would set single rules of working in the mentioned areas for all company employees. Over the last year all the elements of this system have been put in place to ensure its successful operation in line with international standards: the IMS policy has been developed, major rules and regulations reviewed, employees received relevant training, risk assessment conducted in health & safety, environmental protection and food safety, plans for risk mitigation developed.

In spring 2014, globally recognized international certification body Det Norske Veritas held a certification audit at the company breweries. Baltika proved compliance of the integrated management systems with the international standards.

"The IMS certificate demonstrates that the company indeed cares about different areas of its operation and sets the bar high by defining strict requirements and meeting hem in everyday work. Today Baltika is one among few companies in Russia that have built an integrated management system bringing together four standards," says Gunnar Castberg, Country Manager in DNV GL O&G Russia.

"Baltika is one of the youngest companies in the Carlsberg Group, celebrating next year its 25th anniversary. Since its foundation, the company has been using highly developed systems in quality management, environmental protection, health & safety and food safety. Building an integrated management system is yet another proof that we are the market leader open for new innovative methods to develop our business. I am proud that other companies in the Group will build on Baltika's expertise and continue creating IMS elsewhere. And by 2018 a single integrated management system will be created in the Carlsberg Group. We, Baltika, are the firstmovers in this area. We will support other markets in the Group and share our experience with other companies in Russia," said Isaac Sheps, CEO Baltika Breweries.
