OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2014. Meeting on development of the National Qualifications System chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova was held in Government.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, Federation of Trade Unions of the country and other concerned government agencies.

During the event, participants discussed development of the National Qualifications System and methodology of establishing professional standards submitted by a foreign company "Ernst & Young".

Deputy Prime Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova noted: "In accordance with the request of the President from the article "Twenty Steps to Society of Universal of Labour", professional standards must become a "Road Map" for each profession, and therefore questions of their development and implementation are an ideal platform for social dialogue between all stakeholders in our society."

In turn, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection Tamara Duissenova told about the activities of the Ministry to develop a methodology of professional standards, and noted: "These standards will be the basis for development of corporate professional standards and clarify functional responsibilities of employees depending on the specifics of an enterprise".

Furthermore, the structure of professional standards is presented in an accessible and understandable format to understand, and allows to develop public education programs of training, retraining and advanced training, and certification requirements to them.

According to participants, proposed guidelines are specific guidance on development of professional standards with current requirements of labour market to professional qualification of Kazakhstani employees.
