OREANDA-NEWS. The builders of the SK MOST Group of Companies have completed the left turn flyover, which is part of the Dmitrov Highway and Moscow Beltway Interchange. The Moscow-side part of an underpass under the railway line has also been completed.

The interchange construction was carried out without closing traffic along the Beltway and Dmitrov Highway. A large number of city utility lines did not make the builders' life easier.

The left turn flyover at the exit from the Dmitrov Highway (from the region) to the inner side of the Beltway is the highest point of the new interchange. Its maximum altitude is up to 25 meters. A suite of retaining walls have been also completed on the project.

Opening traffic on the new flyover, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the new exit to the Moscow Beltway will significantly improve the situation on the Dmitrov Highway. All the problems will be finally resolved though when the entire interchange is in service. It will happen when the third phase of construction is completed.

The third phase includes continuation of the work on construction of a motorway tunnel having two exists: on the region side and on the Moscow Beltway side. The region-side part of the underpass under the Savelovo bound railway line will also be built. The tunnel is designed to extend under the Beltway and Dmitrov Highway; it is built by the open-pit method.

The new four-level complete interchange will remove the worst bottleneck at the exits of the capital city; it will bring solution to the transportation problems of the town of Severny and provide a smoothly flowing two-way traffic along the Moscow Beltway and Dmitrov Highway.
