OREANDA-NEWS.  Kyiv, 20 June 2014. DTEK Hungary Power Trade LLC has started pilot electricity supplies to the internal wholesale electricity market of Hungary, in line with DTEK's strategy of entering European electricity markets and supplying directly to their consumers.

DTEK's commercial strategy is to develop into a diversified power company that is represented in foreign markets. We will accomplish that by trading on exchanges and selling directly to consumers, with a particular focus on the latter.

“Now that we’ve started operating in the Hungarian market, we will be able to gain the needed market-specific expertise,” said Andrey Favorov, DTEK's Commercial Director. “We are planning both to sell Ukrainian electricity and to develop cross-border trading in Central and Eastern Europe. Eventually, DTEK will be represented in the internal markets of the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Germany.”

DTEK is one of Ukraine’s largest electricity suppliers, exporting to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Moldova, and Belarus. DTEK is a full member of the European grid and a member of EFET.

DTEK Hungary Power Trade LLC was set up in 2010 and on 10 September 2010 received a license for electricity trading from the Hungarian Energy Office. The company’s task is to develop sales of electricity and other energy products in Hungary and other target EU markets.
