OREANDA-NEWS. JSC Volga has passed certification tests to get a new certificate of conformity for its lower weight grade (42 gsm) newsprint.

The certification tests were carried out at the central paper research institute in Moscow in order to verify if such properties as basis weight, density, breaking length, tear resistance, smoothness, dirt count, brightness and opacity conform to those specified in the Mill's technical standard for the 42 gsm newsprint grade.

Subsequently, the test results were included in the set of documents submitted to the Nizhny Novgorod certification and metrology centre to obtain a new certificate of conformity for the newsprint grade.

“This certificate of conformity is valid for three years but during the period the newsprint will also be subjected to annual inspection checks,” says Nadezda Smirnova, head of the Laboratory & Quality Control division. “This year, for example, we have already passed similar inspection checks for newsprint grades O and A.”
