OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2014. 66 monkeys born in the Co-operative Republic of Guyana were transported on Ukraine International Airlines flight PS 232 from New York to Kiev. Transportation of these animals was carried out under the UIA Professional Cargo Solutions program.

Having arrived to Kiev at 5:20 p.m. local time, the animals were transported to their new habitat at Yalta Zoo Skazka – the first and largest private zoo in the CIS countries.

Professional transportation of wild and exotic animals is a part of the freight portfolio of Ukraine International Airlines, which has long been cooperating with zoological nurseries around the world supporting their efforts to preserve endangered species.

“Transportation of wild animals is a technically difficult and highly responsible assignment, requiring the airline’s special skills and vast experience in live baggage handling, – noted Alla Kubrak, Deputy Head of UIA Cargo Sales and Reservations. – When carrying its exotic passengers, UIA complied with all international requirements: during their long-haul journey the monkeys were provided with the most comfortable flight conditions, specific nutrition, and special care”.
