OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2014. Bank ZENIT has implemented the 3-D Secure technology for all types of cards issued by MasterCard allowing safer online payments.

Thanks to the use of 3-D Secure, the bank is now able to authenticate a cardholder by entering an additional one-time password sent over SMS. This automatically activated service is free for the Bank's clients.

"The Bank has experience using this technology. In last autumn, Bank ZENIT implemented 3-D Secure (Verified by Visa) for Visa cards. The Bank now offers a more secure online service to all its clients, holders of cards issued by all payment systems. While the increasing number of online shops uses this technology in servicing their clients, security and reliability of online payments is improving," commented Alexey Rozorenov, Deputy Head of the Management Board, Bank ZENIT.

When making purchases online from an online shop that offers theMasterCard SecureCode service a cardholder enters the requested card details and is redirected to Bank ZENIT's web-site where the client enters a one-time password in order to confirm a payment. The one-time password is sent to the cardholder over SMS together with an online shop's details and purchase price.
