OREANDA-NEWS. NPO Saturn became the winner of the competition under the title “100 best Russian companies. Ecology and ecological business”. It is one of the most prestigious public awards in the field of ecology. In the nomination “The person of the year” the individual award went to Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn chief executive officer, for his personal contribution to the preservation of the environment and ecology, and decrease of negative impact on the environment. The memorable insignia “The ecologist of the year” was awarded to Elena Savich, deputy head of the NPO Saturn work shop No. 9 in charge of engineering.

According to Ilya Fedorov, 'the company has institutionalized the ecological management system compliant with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2004. Only in 2013 NPO Saturn invested 72011.41 to ensure ecological safety.'

The environment-preservation activity of NPO Saturn had already been acknowledged with many awards in several nominations of this prestigious competition. This year the company was commended for its systemic approach to solving environmental issues, the elaboration and successful implementation of environment-preservation measures and prospective technologies based on the best world ecological efficiency indicators.

The award ceremony took place in Saint-Petersburg as part of the VIII All-Russian conference “Ecology and production environment. Prospects of development of economic mechanisms of the environmental protection.”

The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-building company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation, naval ships and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units.
