OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2014. Three R&D projects independently undertaken by China 20MCC Construction Group (20MCC Group) passed through the authentication by MCC Group, and the research achievements were rated to be of international advanced level.

The R&D projects include: (i) Integrated Design & Construction Technology for Large-sized Fabricated Composite-structure Concentration Basin; (ii) Research & Application of Sea-sand Filled Roadbed Technology for Highway; and (iii) Key Construction Technology for Large-sized Eco-Cement Production Facility.?

With regard to the Integrated Design & Construction Technology for Large-sized Fabricated Composite-structure Concentration Basin, it is one of the key R&D projects undertaken by the Fabricated Architectural Engineering Technology Center of MCC Group. Basing upon the R&D task for the Floor-model Concentration Basin (with a diameter of 90m) under the SINO Iron Ore Project in the Western Australia, the technicians made optimized design on the reinforced concrete structure, and adopted fabricated composite-structure for the first time for the underground structure, which has contributed to shorten the construction period by 3-4 months. The concentration basin was put into operation in the end of 2012, and is proved to be running well up to now.

With regard to the Research & Application of Sea-sand Filled Roadbed Technology for Highway, the technicians carried out a lot of on-site and internal tests and theoretical research on the special geological conditions and the land privatization situation under the Airport Highway Project in Sri Lanka, and took the sea-sand as the filling materials of the whole roadbed of the highway for the first time in the whole world. In order to resolve the technical problem of differential settlement in the sea-sand filled roadbed, lightweight reinforced-soil retaining wall is adopted, which has filled the gap in terms of the design and construction technologies in this field in both China and foreign countries. The successful development of the scientific achievement is expected to reduce the destroy on the farmland and cultivated land, and thus is of great significance for environment protection

With regard to the Key Construction Technology for Large-sized Eco-Cement Production Facility, the world’s most advanced production process of “One kiln and four mills” is employed for the first time. Key technologies have been developed for civil works, steel structure and electromechanical construction works. In total, 14 items of patent have been approved, and a patent group has been formed, which enjoys a wide application prospect.
