OREANDA-NEWS. Trubodetal factory (Trubodetal Open Joint Stock Company, based in Chelyabinsk, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, based in Moscow) has won the 2014 Clean City competition in the category “Most Active Business in the Sovietsky District.” The competition was organized by the authorities of Chelyabinsk.

The competition's panel praised the factory's efforts in enhancing the Novosineglazovsky settlement. Trubodetal consistently allocates funds for area upkeep, and organizes major cleanings in the Spring and Fall. Also, task forces supported by the factory operate from April to October. Local schoolchildren and students from the Novosineglazovsky Air Transport College mow the lawn, plant flowers, and help the affiliated kindergartens and health clinic.

“Our factory has always been active in landscaping Novosineglazovsky,” said Andrey Korotkov, Trubodetal's Managing Director. “Many of our employees live in this settlement, and it is important for us that they, their relatives, and neighbors live in comfortable conditions and can see the improvements in their urban environment with each passing year. This has been a concerted effort on our part.”

Also, starting in 2011, Trubodetal has been holding the “Simple Ideas to Improve the Quality of Life” competition, which involves participants presenting projects on infrastructure improvement in Novosineglazovsky. The factory then implements the winning ideas using its own resources. The “Simple Ideas to Improve the Quality of Life” competition has generated a culture and leisure center for children and teenagers, a club for older generations, and a fitness center.
