OREANDA-NEWS. LLC "STROYGAZMONTAZH" has started the construction and installation works on Pisarevka-Anapa mountain section, km 817.0 - a shutdown valve of Russkaya CS of the South Stream gas pipeline.

GAZPROM INVEST LLC is the Customer, and JSC "Lengazspetsstroy" is the subcontractor. This section of gas pipeline will connect Russkaya CS with the South Stream gas pipeline, which will deliver gas to European customers.

The constructing section has a unique complexity - the works are performed in the Greater Caucasus foothills, in conditions of significant elevation differences (slopes reach up to 30 degrees). The route runs in an earthquake-prone region with active tectonic faults and landslide slopes that requires the reliable engineering preparation of the right-of-way. The protection of this gas pipeline for its safe operation will be required as well.

Pisarevka-Anapa mountain section, km 817.0 - a shutdown valve of Russkaya CS will consist of four strings. The length of each string will total 3.3 km.

It is vitally important to use high-pressure pipes (28.45 MPa) with the diameter of 812.8 mm and the extra wall thickness of 36.5 mm because the outlet gas from Russkaya CS should have the maximum pressure to be transmitted over the bottom of the Black Sea. The constructors are performing route clearing, earth and scaffolding works, as well as the excavation of useless soil for the moment. The welding and laying works starts in the middle of July. The scheduled completion date is Q3 2015.
