OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2014. Such parameters of the contract to be concluded between Gazprom and Moldovagaz were approved by shareholders of the Russian gas holding at their annual general meeting.

They also decided that in 2015-2017 Moldovagaz would provide Gazprom with the transit services at a volume of no more than 25.4 billion cu m, with the latter paying for the transit of the gas via main gas pipelines running on the territory of Moldova no more than USD76.2 million. Let’s remind that in 2013, Gazprom cut gas supply to Moldova, including Transnistria, by 22.4% to 2.39 billion cu m.

According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, in 2013, Moldova, excluding Transnistria, reduced purchases of Russian gas by 5.9% to 1.03 billion 031.2 million cu m. In value terms, the purchases decreased 5.1% to MDL 4.92 billion. In 2013 Moldova transited to the Balkan states 0.2% more gas, at a volume of 19.65 billion cu m.

The transit of Russian natural gas through Moldova to the Balkan states is provided by Moldovatransgaz and Tiraspoltransgaz. The transit rate is equal to USD 3 per 1,000 cu m per 100 km. Stock association Moldovagaz is a joint Moldovan-Russian company established in 1999. Its major shareholders include Gazprom (50%), the government of Moldova (35.33%) and the administration of Transnistria (13.44%).
