OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of Youth and Sport for Mozambique, Fernando Sumbana JЁІnior, praised the activities being developed at the centre

The Minister of Youth and Sport for Mozambique, Fernando Sumbana JЁІnior, visited the 25th September Sport Centre in Moatize at the beginning of the month. During the visit, the representative of the Mozambican government was shown the activities that are being developed at the centre, constructed by the Vale Foundation as part of the Sport for Development Program.

The minister believes that the work developed is an example of what needs to be replicated in other areas of the country. Ў°We need to be aware of the need we have to involve ourselves in sporting activities, from sustainability perspective and also so we can pass on these values to future generations,Ў± said Sumbana.

The 25th September Sport Centre was inaugurated in July 2013 and has a wide infrastructure, including a synthetic grass football field, and athletics track, bleachers and swimming pools, among other facilities. Executive Director of the Vale Foundation Joaquina Saranga emphasized the importance of the work developed with children and adolescents via the Sport for Development Program. Ў°The involvement of the wider community together with the participation of local authorities will contribute to the success of this initiative, providing benefits for Vila de Moatize, Tete and Mozambique,Ў± he concluded.
