OREANDA-NEWS. July 07, 2014. At Sberbank CIB the company’s fourteenth summer internship is beginning, this year with the title Head Start@Sberbank CIB. Fifty students and graduates from Moscow’s leading financial and economic universities have joined the teams of the business and support units of the company for two months.

An internship at Sberbank CIB is above all participation in real projects, an in-depth experience of the investment banking industry, and work in a highly professional and international team. At the end of the internship, those who have performed the best will receive job offers and will be able to continue studying in autumn on the Sberbank CIB Bankers Training Program, which was created especially for beginner bankers.

“Today young specialists take an early approach to determining their priorities and career goals. By second or third year of university they already know where they want to take internships and work,” commented Maria Merkulova, Head of Review, Learning & Development in Sberbank CIB’s Human Resources Division. “This means that we can attract knowledgeable, motivated and result-oriented interns. This year, out of the more than 1,000 candidates who applied, we invited seventy-eight to the Summer Classes – the training stage of the selection process. Fifty of them will begin their internships this week. We wish them the best of luck! It won’t be easy, but it will be interesting!”

One of the main goals of the internship program, which began at Troika Dialog in 2001 (known as Sberbank CIB since 2012), is the selection and training of young specialists to work at the company. Last year’s internship program at Sberbank CIB resulted in the hiring of 15 interns. Over 200 interns have joined the company throughout the history of the program.
