OREANDA-NEWS. Vyksa Steel Works (VSW Open Joint Stock Company, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, based in Moscow) has launched new equipment for the application of protective conservation coating for casing.

The aim of the project is to provide anti-corrosive protection for the casing produced at the factory at the time of its transportation and storage. Ultra-violet solidificated lacquer will be used for the coating. It provides anti-corrosion protection for the pipe's surface for up to nine months.

“The new equipment has been installed at the factory's fifth pipe workshop. The project's aim is to satisfy the growing demands that the customers - oil and gas companies - have regarding the casing's quality and appearance. The specificity of our products and the harsh conditions that they are used in suggest increased requirements on the level of functionality. The potential to deliver casing with a conserving coating will give the factory's products another competitive edge," said Sergey Filippov, VSW's Executive Director.
