OREANDA-NEWS. FESCO Transportation Group has tackled the construction of the approximately 300,000-TEU capacity transportation-logistics center Usady in the Moscow Region. Total project cost is estimated at 6.8bn rubles.

Russian Presidential Aide Igor Levitin, Moscow Region's Governor Andrei Vorobyev, Board Chairman of Summa Group Ziyavudin Magomedov, President of Summa Group Alexander Vinokurov, President of FESCO Transportation Group Ruslan Alikhanov participated in the opening ceremony to launch the construction site.

One of the largest in Moscow Region transportation-logistics hubs will be built on the territory of Stupino district. TLC Usady will comprise an open-air container ground adjacent to the Moscow railroad, a covered 20,000-sqm warehouse with a 3,000-ton refrigerator, a customs terminal, a covered train-shed for one-time handling of 12 covered cars, an engine house with FESCO proprietary locomotives. The site area amounts to around 30 hectares. Construction works are slated for completion in Q4 of 2015.

"Construction of a new transportation-logistics center is part of our strategy to develop intermodal container transportation. This project implementation will provide conditions for streamlining of the route network and improvement of flow-through intermodal container services in Russia as a whole," noted Ruslan Alikhanov, FESCO Transportation Group President.
